    Note:
    During the 1953 Course de Côte de Planfoy, near Saint-Étienne, in central France, Jean Heurtaux, who had just broken the record for the hillclimb in his Jaguar C-type, was crossing the finishing line when his car skidded and left the course, striking a stake and two trees and throwing the driver out. He was killed instantly and the car caught fire. Parts of the car were found before the place of the accident, leading to the belief that it was caused by a mechanic failure.

    Some sources indicate that the spelling of the driver's surname would be Heurteaux, but it is likely that the correct form is Heurtaux.

    Before the Second World War Jean Heurtaux had been a motorcycle racer, then he moved to motorsport: he drove a Veritas - BMW and finished 15th in the 2-litre class in the 1952 Monaco Grand Prix which that year was not a Formula 1 event but, instead, a non-championship race for sportscars up to two liters. During practice for this race occurred the accident that claimed the life of Luigi Fagioli, who crashed his Lancia B20 in the tunnel and succumbed to his injuries twenty days later. Jean Heurtaux later purchased the Jaguar C-type that in 1952 he shared with Captain Marceau Crespin finishing 6th in the Rallye de Monte-Carlo, and winning the 12 Heures d'Hyeres. Then Heurtaux was 5th in the Circuit d'Agen and participated in various rallies, finishing 3rd in the Stella Alpina Rallye. He was also 54th in the 1952 Tour de France Automobile, with co-driver Molinelli in a Porsche. In 1953 he drove his Jaguar with his wife Susanna Millo Heurtaux, the duo competed in the Soleil-Cannes Rally, in March 1953 they broke the record of the Alger-Le Cap and in April they finished 35th overall in the 1953 Mille Miglia race.

    In the 1953 edition of the 12 Heures d'Hyeres which was held one month after his death, a "Jean Heurtaux Special Trophy" was awarded and at the end of the race a minute's silence was observed, to honour both his memory and that of "Pierre Pagnibon" who was killed during the race itself.

    XKC035 was delivered in january 1953 so it canot run in 1952 !

    In Monte Carlo rally 1952, Heurtaux and Crespin finished 6th in Jaguar Mark VII 3,4L registered 3998TTIY.

    For the Miglia 1953 number 623 registered 887TT3X finished 35rd but were not classed.

    For the "Côte de Panfloy", number 178 were registered 887TT3X
